In the classroom with special guest and friend, Maria Naita from Uganda! A beautiful spirit and extremely talented artist. We learned a lot about the contemporary art scene in Uganda, as well as how to use a new material, unique to East Africa, bark cloth. Earlier this year we visited her studio outside of Kampala. I hope to be part of many more exciting cultural exchanges like this one.
